The Accelerating Scientific workflowS using EarthCube Technologies (ASSET) project is developing a framework to capture scientific workflows in different domains of geosciences, characterize the type of work and the amount of effort involved in each activity, and map workflow activities to available tools and infrastructure. The ASSET workflow sketching interface enables scientists to specify their workflows and describe the steps involved.

A research object is an artifact to pack the results of a research. This includes: papers, datasets, software, presentations and any other digital object relevant for a research. It is highly recommened adding relations among the different digital objects to express the dependencies.

In order to facilitate the creation of these Research Objects in the context of project ACTION, the team decided to customize the tool ASSET to represent the Research Objects of the project.
